Your quote “God helps those who help themselves” isn’t Biblical and is actually the opposite of what the Bible says. I know it’s a popular saying and many people THINK it comes from the Bible but please enlighten me if you ever find it in there. I assure you, you won’t.
Rather, the Bible says that God helps those who CANNOT help themselves. Everyone needs God because we can’t do it alone.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
