My dad who was a cowboy till the day he died had a saying about a few “Wanna be’s” he’d say; ” that boy wouldn’t make a pimple on a cowboy’s butt” and when I was riding a cranky or mule headed horse he’s always say; “Ride him for what he’s worth and you’ll get along fine” and I always knew what he meant and that he was right.
Trust your neighbor.. But brand your cattle.
Growin’ up, lovin’ horses with a real “Old timer” that owned 13 riding stables and 2 slaughter houses and taught me that.
“Them horses eat ‘fore you do”.
“Pen full of horses out there. Need ridin'”.
And “If it ain’t good in the stable. It’ll be good on the table!”

Few scars on a fella can mean a lot of things. But fair chance he’s a quitter. A lot a scars can mean a few things too. But there’s a fair chance he’s never been one.
Now I’m seeing all of this stuff bout boots n spurs n stuff but to me a cowboy is just a man that does what is asked of him and puts work and other people ahead of themselves. They do the things that need to be done before they go off drinking beer or whatever they do for pleasure.
And there is one quote that I believe in: you ain’t a cowboy till you’ve worked a full cowboy day.
There are only two things you’ll see on the back of a bull. A fly and a fool.
Cowboys are gentlemen who treat women with respect and work hard. They use their manners more than any other man would and ride horse and bulls like their is no tomorrow.
I am just a teenager but I agree with the guy who said this stuff is BS but if that guy is a real cowboy why is he on a computer I haven’t met one real cowboy that knows how to work a computer.
You aren’t country without a pair of worn out leather cowboy boots. :)
