Honesty is an expensive virtue, and no one is really 100% honest. People are by nature half- honest and half- hypocritical, and they naturally choose to be hypocritical if doing so is beneficial to them. There is always a constant struggle between honesty and dishonesty, but nothing can replaced honesty in a pleasant, healthy and happy life.

Honesty is the sum of sincerity, reasonableness, truthfulness, and fairness – honesty is the virtuous strength that overcomes deceit, deception and lying.

Honesty is more than telling the truth – honesty also means admitting our flaws, defects and weaknesses, and not doing what we know is wrong.

It is virtuous and honorable to be honest, but honesty does not always pay. Honesty is not a good policy in circumstances where being honest is disadvantageous or harmful.

Honesty makes people feel good about themselves, but it is difficult to be living honestly all the time in life.

It is difficult to be honest with ourselves – we would rather cover up our own faults, mistakes and weaknesses, and we often selfishly and dishonestly convince ourselves to do bad things.

People often find it necessary not to say and act honestly in order to gain what they desire, or to avoid misunderstanding or conflicts.

It is not a good idea to be enthusiastically honest with people you do not know well, and it is not wrong to conceal or disguise for self- protection.

There is no guarantee that honest people will always be honest and straightforward, and not all honest people are always reliable and countable.

Good and honest people are equally vulnerable to being hypocritical and deceptive when self- interests are involved – sometimes even honest people have to pay the price of acting hypocritically or unscrupulously.

Most people commonly employ dishonesty and deception as a means to get through life safely and advantageously.

In business and politics, honesty is a luxury, and dishonesty is a good companion.

People do praise and respect honesty, but most people would prefer dishonest- but- rich to honest- – but- – poor.

Honesty does not guarantee success, but it is an honorable and respected way to achieve honestly earned success.

Dishonesty is always one way of climbing the ladder of success, but dishonest intentions and manipulations are more prone to fail.

Honesty makes better people and creates human relationships based on trust, integrity, righteousness and altruism.

Honesty enables people to have better personal relationships and social support, and to enjoy a pleasant, healthy and happy life.

Without honesty, the world would be a zoo of dishonest, treacherous and man- hunting animals.
