All my life I thought no one would
melt a heart like mine, a heart so cold,
a heart hardened by the past,
protected by shields so vast.

Slowly I was falling
without even knowing.
Only to find out too late
I have no choice but to accept my fate.

I could dream, I suppose
forever, I could hope
there will never be any ‘us’, that’s our destiny
so I wake up to reality.

Time does not stop…
There are moments I wish it would.
The ones when all the beauty
of everyone and everything
leaves me breathless.
The moments when I feel
so much peace and joy
resting on my shoulders.
When I feel as powerful as dynamite;
when the song in my heart sounds like an
orchestra for my soul.
Those are the precious and priceless
moments that capture my essence
and my true, inner beauty.

Cry me a river…
well, I’ve cried a few.
I don’t like to hear sad stories
and I avoid watching the News.
Whatever keeps me above water
or floating on air,
is what I need,
is what my heart can bare.
So sing me a happy song
or put on a comedy.
I want to keep this feeling
of everlasting joy
and a sense of security.

A place to live in
A place to stay
A place where you can enjoy your day

A place they sell an old ancient stamp
A place that never grows so damp

And all to think of in your dreams,
It might not be what it seems.

I was moving through life
at a snail’s pace,
but now with confidence
and a smile on my face.
I have sped up the speed…
for that person in need
has succeeded,
has discovered,
that she was born
to write words
for others to read.

With all the highs
and all the lows.
All the acclaims
and unnecessary blames.
All that can be said and read is,
“That’s how life goes.”

Keeping your pride,
when others rip it apart,
is the test to your integrity.
Regardless of how deep
they get in your head,
they will never take your heart.

My heart aches for those in pain.
For the ones less fortunate,
and the mentally insane.
The ones in turmoil.
The ones with no voice.
The ones living
without freedom of choice.
I carry my compassion
wherever I go.
I will take off my sweater
and give it to you,
BUT, mess with my integrity
and I just may throw you a shoe.
So I give what I can.
It may be a kind word,
a smile, a helping hand.
I am drawn to those most in need.
I am passionately working my ground
and as the saying goes,
‘you reap what you sow’,
I am empowering my life
by planting that seed
in the most perfect rows.
