That Seed

My heart aches for those in pain.
For the ones less fortunate,
and the mentally insane.
The ones in turmoil.
The ones with no voice.
The ones living
without freedom of choice.
I carry my compassion
wherever I go.
I will take off my sweater
and give it to you,
BUT, mess with my integrity
and I just may throw you a shoe.
So I give what I can.
It may be a kind word,
a smile, a helping hand.
I am drawn to those most in need.
I am passionately working my ground
and as the saying goes,
‘you reap what you sow’,
I am empowering my life
by planting that seed
in the most perfect rows.
