A man of one religion is a boy, a man who believes many religions is a peace seeking man.
Any idealism taken to extremes be it faith, politics or race will always end in bloodshed. Religion has both good and bad points, many of the most inspiring structures in the world owe there existence to religion, the sound of choirs raising there voice to sing give great joy to those who listen. Religion offers solace and support to many in need in need, most of the philosophy on how we should live our lives held within the texts hold true today. The sight of people praying is very calming even if as I do you not believe in any organized faith.
However to believe that religion is the only way one can live a good life is misguided. And the only difference between someone who follows any of the Abrahamic based faiths and a true atheist is one god for those who believe reject all others from Belobog to Zeus and therefore teach us to be intolerant of anyone who does not believe or disbelieve the same as us.
Until we can learn to accept that although we are different in many ways, we are all fundamentally the same. And that shoving your views be they athiest or religous down others throats in the false belief that you are right, as who truly knows? Only causes greater misunderstanding and resentment then we have no hope of tolerance or peace within the world.
Science flies you to the moon, religion flies you into buildings.
The Sun, the moon, air, water and color of blood is same for all, then why the God who has created us is different for every religion?

Christianity is not about having a religion. It’s a personal relationship with our Saviour. The ONLY one that gave his life for our sins; his name is Jesus Christ the creator of the universe. Just because people choose to Deny Christ does not make him less real. The bible is very clear that Satan is the author of confusion and if he confuses you until you die then he has won.

The world is full of people that think if they have a religion or if they do good works they will go to heaven, how sad to buy into the devil’s lies.

We live in such a perverse society; People have forgotten the wonderful daily blessings of the Lord. I am so thankful for God’s grace and mercy on me; for I am so undeserving. There is a place of complete peace and joy and that is in Jesus Christ the one and only True God. Let the love of Jesus fill the void in your heart.
God Bless you and God Bless America!
So as an atheist, you believe in disappointment, and pain, and science. I can say this because I was an atheist. Looking back now I had faith in more things than I do now since becoming a christian. I trust in God. That’s all.
People fail. Nature fails. Who do we think we are to put the blame on anyone else but ourselves for the mistakes of this world? we blame things that we can’t see…that should speak for itself why we should take responsibility. Christians feel disappointment…more than non- Christians. Trust me, I know. I look heavenward and wonder why all these horrible things happen and feel the deepest sorrow. I also know that God is bigger than this. He is in control. Know why? Because bad things happen, but they never last. There’s always an end. And he promises that in the Bible. It’s very hard to trust in someone you can’t see, but we blame Him for our problems, so deep down we believe that he’s there. Just maybe not someone we would like to worship.
But let’s be serious. He claims to be all good…he claims to love unconditionally, he claims forgiveness forever, so what proof do we actually have that the bad things are his fault? Our own view of him. When bad things happen, I feel the weight of that. It’s MY sin, not God’s. I can sit here and talk to you until I am blue in the face, but you have to experience how God is different for yourself. He asks nothing from you but expects everything. The saddest part of being an atheist is looking around for someone to thank when you are happy, and no ones there, cause you don’t believe. It’s waking up at night and thinking…halfway believing that God exists, just to barely keep existing, but then reminding yourself not to feel, because feelings are bad and fleeting.
Knowing that when you do question the possible existence of God that the next bad thing that happens will make you not believe. Let me tell you, I had more faith then than I do now. I know that it’s the bad things in the past that make you not trust God, or anyone for that matter, but I can tell you that you believe. You believe in yourself. You only trust yourself, and believe that the decisions you make each day, as small as they may be, are the right ones for you. You have your best interest at heart. God is not a feeling. Christianity is not a feeling. It’s a knowledge. It’s a faith practice. I have learned that when I became a Christian I have no rights. I gave up myself to the Lord and what he wants for me.
Even as I am writing this, it sounds crazy. But it works. I learn every day that the Lord’s ways are not our ways. His love is not our love. I do not understand God. He is not to be defined. That is what gives him the most glory is to sit back and say “God I do not know what you are always about, I do not understand you, but you do. I know your bigger than me and my issues. Work your will”.
C.S. Lewis once said ” A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word ‘darkness’ on the walls of his cell”. That is so true. When bad things happen, we either run to God, or blame him. And it’s always the God of the Bible, not Allah, or the Dali Llama, or what have you. Deep down we all know he exists. We just deny because for some crazy reason we think we are better.
Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future
Atheists do not believe in nothing, they simply do not believe. We are people who need proof in order to believe. Maybe this is because we never saw faith as something we needed in the past, or maybe we have had faith and were disappointed, but we find it more difficult to trust than other people. We are often branded as totally distrusting, but I believe the truth of all atheists is that we are cautious and rational. We have felt disappointment, we have seen it’s effects and decided by ourselves that this is not something worth going through unless there is proof that religion is real. I admire those with faith, it is an honorable quality, but just one that in my heart of hearts I cannot embrace.
Religion has always been used to explain the unexplainable. As science advances, so the need for religion will diminish until it is obsolete.
Does believing in God really make me narrow minded for just choosing one religion? I don’t believe in God as just a being. He is love. He is forgiveness. He is peace. He is mercy. He is kindness. He is much more than just a being. I don’t believe in religion, I chose to be apart of one. People who believe in many religions simply don’t accept truth. None of them match perfectly, that’s why choosing one is logical. Being a Christian does not make me “narrow- minded” or perfect in any way. I wake up some mornings and wonder what I’m thinking. But the truth is that unlike other religions. I FEEL God. I know he’s there. When I talk to him, I hear Him. He lives up to his Word. It’s ME that is fallible. So, does believing in a God that made and holds all things into being still make me narrow- minded? Does dabbling in other religions and finally coming to God make me narrow- minded? Why would you not want to believe in someone like God, who is ALL good. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his will.”
There are no such things as Atheists. Even they believe that if the sun does not shine, it will one day, because there is a sun. They believe that if they sit down, a chair is there to hold them, and even if it slides out from under them, they will sit down again. They look outside and believe that nature exists. That in that nature, there are cells and molecules and in believing that, it’s science. I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist. Because by believing in nothing, they believe in something.
God loves all, and is all good. He is not war. He is not pain. He is not abuse. He is not murder. He is not your preacher. He is God. He is satisfied with himself completely and could never be killed. The grave could not hold him, and we cannot deny him. Believe.
Religious truth is not determined by popular opinion.
A misunderstanding in religion causes war, finding out what it really means brings peace.
Religion is like a pair of shoes…Find one that fits for you, but don’t make me wear your shoes.
- George Carlin
Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man … Living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you. He loves you and he needs money.
- George Carlin
