Many people suffer because they are not adapted to extensive periods of solitude, and therefore search for entertainment and for meaning on social interactions. However, there is no complete control and freedom in social interactions like there is in solitude. There is always need for compromise, and for doing things you may disdain to do, but have to just for the sake of your peers. This can be a source of conflict and, thus, of unnecessary suffering which is a great problem.
