Cowboy Quotes and Sayings
Asking to borrow someones saddle is like asking to borrow someone’s girlfriend, you just don’t do that.
You’ll see, life’s path is easier to walk with a horse between your legs!
A cowboy never tries on another man’s hat, its like gettin’ on his horse.
Sorry I don’t have a quote but I was reading all these other quotes on here and about half of them are BS, I’ve been a cowboy my whole life and when I was growing up we said our yes sir/mam and held the door open for women and old cowboys and cowgirls. So when I say that just because you own a pair of boots, spurs, a hat, drive a truck, or just have a horse doesn’t mean your a cowboy. People who walk around saying their cowboys and don’t have anything to back it up with make us real cowboys look bad. Oh and by the way JUST because you ride bulls doesn’t make you a cowboy, not once have I ever been asked “Hey man do you think you could come over some time and break my bull for me”. It’s stupid and you’re not a cowboy.
Anyway that’s just my two cents.
The history of “A man to ride the river with” comes from when Texas Rangers patrolled the Rio Grande on horseback guarding against outlaws and Indians. It, of course, meant someone you could always count on in a dangerous situation.
A cowboy is someone who will work his fingers to the bone and not give up no matter how bad it gets. So…you break your finger well quitting ain’t gonna put supper on the table and pay the house off you just keep on going instead of making excuse to give up.
Hey y’all a true cowboy is one who only talks with that accent, who wears boots with everything!, who ain’t too rich and ain’t too poor, and who wears his wranglers no matter how hot it is, who can’t live without his dip, who loves them big trucks, who always wearing that cowboy hat even if everyone else doesn’t, A true cowboy is BORN not MADE!, and won’t ever leave the house without his hat!!! I love them southern rednecks!
Don’t call yourself a cowboy when your hat is on your dash and you wear jeans with rhinestones on the butt. A cowboy doesn’t care what he looks like as much as that the job gets done and the cattle and horses are tended to!
Never Been a Horse that can’t be Rode, Never Been a Cowboy that can’t be Thrown.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did do.
