Sorry I don’t have a quote but I was reading all these other quotes on here and about half of them are BS, I’ve been a cowboy my whole life and when I was growing up we said our yes sir/mam and held the door open for women and old cowboys and cowgirls. So when I say that just because you own a pair of boots, spurs, a hat, drive a truck, or just have a horse doesn’t mean your a cowboy. People who walk around saying their cowboys and don’t have anything to back it up with make us real cowboys look bad. Oh and by the way JUST because you ride bulls doesn’t make you a cowboy, not once have I ever been asked “Hey man do you think you could come over some time and break my bull for me”. It’s stupid and you’re not a cowboy.
Anyway that’s just my two cents.

Alright this is ridiculous to answer to all the buckle bunnies and saddle clubers being a cowboy has nothing to do with the horse you ride, boots or hat you wear, or quote you stole off the internet. Being a cowboy is not what you do, it’s who you are. It’s a state of mind. Now you get this state of mind not from rodeo’in or riding your horse on a trail ride. It from breaking ice off the water tanks when it’s 20 below, Checking the herd at 2 am to keep the calves from freezing. Pulling calves in the middle of the night. Checking the creek to make sure you didn’t miss any. Feeding the horses on Christmas morning before sitting down to open gifts. You can’t be a cowboy without putting in the time. Yes most cowboys are gentlemen, but if you really think about the history of cowboys from the cattle drives, they weren’t all that great to be around. And to sum it up, y’all watch too much TV. Cause that’s the cowboys you dreaming about not the real deal.
