Cowboy Quotes and Sayings
Being a cowboy ain’t about wearing your fancy spotless 50xx beaver hat or riding you horse on a manicured trail on the weekends. It’s about getting up all hours of the night to check cattle in the winter time and freezing your hands while you do it, and cutting trail through brush so thick you can’t see ten feet in front of you, it’s not about driving around in a big jacked up pickup being ignorant. It’s about holding doors for your elders and the ladies just like truecowboy says. Being a cowboy isn’t a job or a hobby that you can just pick up.
It’s a life style that you live from the day you are born.
Not to be offensive to any of you who think you are a “Cowboy” or “Cowgirl” but I agree with several posters, it doesn’t matter if your raising cattle in Montana or horses in Texas. You know if your life stops between February and June to make sure your foals/calves make it and you have a crop for next year. When this is the life that has been handed down to you from generations back, when you have been in the hospital with your own injuries and watched your friends and loved ones in the hospital, when the last thought before leaving the graveyard is “He is the last of a dying breed” and you know that they don’t make cattlemen and horsemen like him anymore. Then you might be what so many wanna be.
